Reiki is alternative and complementary energy healing therapy that can be used alone or alongside traditional medical treatments.
It is gentle and noninvasive, suitable for everyone. It is based on the belief that our bodies have natural healing energies and capabilities, and that these energies can be harnessed to help us heal on physical, emotional and spiritual levels.
Reiki practitioners use their hand to channel these energies into the person receiving treatment, improving overall health and well-being.

Reiki is grounded in the idea that energy flows freely through a healthy body, but when energy becomes blocked or imbalanced, it can lead to
physical or emotional ailments. Practitioners channel energy through their hands and the physical vibration in a person's body heats up or slows down
based on how the practitioner shifts energy with their hands.
Reiki feels healing, peaceful, calm, loving and deeply relaxing. It allows the client to go into deep peaceful meditation without effort.
Common benefits include:
-
reduction of anxiety and stress,
-
prevention of burnout,
-
improved sleep,
-
pain reduction,
-
increased energy or energy balance,
-
raised awareness and presence,
-
easing PTSD (along with therapy, medication and other modalities).
My Story.
From a very young age, I was an empath. I was a sensitive child, wearing my emotions on my sleeve and sensitive to how I was spoken to and treated. I sensed other people's emotions as well, as a small child. I never understood this gift and neither did those around me. I was always seen as needy and too emotional. But it was this gift that directed me to helping others in the capacity as a social worker and then in nursing.
In 2020, during covid while meditating I had a repressed memory from childhood of a sexual assault and one other trauma that sent me on a healing journey to rediscover myself. It was during this journey that I discovered reiki as a form of healing for myself. After 3 years of reiki (and other healing modalities), I realized that I needed to offer reiki to others so they can reap the benefits as well. Reiki is just another way I can continue to use my gifts to help people heal themselves from whatever they are going through.
I have been fortunate in my career to work in multiple areas of health care, both as a social worker and a nurse practitioner. I have worked in physical rehab, hospital medical inpatient, program for troubled teens, catholic home for abused and neglected children, county jail, as well as outpatient ob/gyn. I learned so much and enjoyed it all. However for the past 17 years, I have been working in addiction medicine, both inpatient and outpatient. It’s this that captured my heart and soul. I feel humbled to help those who struggle and am honored to guide them into choosing the right path for their health and overall wellbeing. I think Reiki has a place in addiction treatment as well. I am happy to share this with anyone who might be experiencing a substance use or dependence issue.
